DIY: Get Rid of Dry Skin

Hey guys, I just have a simple DIY for you. If you are like myself and have dry skin then you will love this!

My St.Ives apricot scrub has not been cutting it lately, my flakiness has gotten out of control and the scrub wasn't doing much. I hesitantly tried the clean & clear facial scrub and I was extremely disappointed. It was so gentle it was practically a cleanser, it did nothing for dry skin.

So instead of wasting anymore money on products that may or may not work or may or may not break me out I decided to make my own facial scrub using only two ingredients!

You will need:
- Olive Oil
- Brown Sugar
- Resealable container (makes it easy to make a large amount and store it)

I started off by putting 5 spoon fulls of brown sugar and then added about 5 spoon fulls of olive oil. I simply mixed it up in my glass container and it is ready to use!

From the first use, 90% of my flaky and dead skin was gone! The brown sugar grains are rough enough to scrub off all that dead skin without scratching you and the olive oil is a great moisturizer.... its basically the dynamic duo for anyone suffering from dry skin. I usually use my cleanser right after to get rid of the greasy scent/residue left on my face and bam! I've got flaky free and super soft skin! This is so easy to make and will save you so much money! You can even add a squeeze of lemon juice to aid in getting rid of any scarring.

Let me know your tips/tricks for dealing with dry skin I'd love to hear it!

update: If you remember my post about my Soda Addiction you will know I was trying to go a whole month with no soda and I did it!! I tried having a can of pop to reward myself and I couldn't even finish it. I think it is going to be a lot easier for me to stick to my juice and water now. :)

  1. I'm glad you shared this. I suffer from extremely awful dry patches all year long, however, this year I have been investing in home remedies too rather than store-bought ones and Alhumdulilah, I'm very content with the results! :) xx
